Maria Daniela Pastries (“MDP,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information when you visit mariadanielapastries.com, contact us, request a quote, upload a file, create an account, or place an order.

Information We Collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

Contact information: name, email address, telephone number, and preferred method of contact.
Order and event information: requested products, event date, serving requirements, themes, colours, messages, pickup or delivery details, and other customization information.
Files you provide: reference photos, inspiration images, edible-print files, and other attachments submitted for an order or quote.
Transaction information: billing details, order totals, deposit or payment status, refunds, and transaction references. Payment providers process payment credentials; MDP does not receive or store your complete card number.
Technical information: IP address, browser and device information, pages visited, cookies, and similar information generated when you use the website.

How We Collect Information

We collect information directly from you when you contact us, submit a quote request, upload a file, create an account, place an order, or communicate with us. We also receive information needed to operate the website through WordPress and WooCommerce, our hosting and security providers, Google services used for email or backups, email delivery services and Interac e-Transfer. A customer-arranged courier may provide delivery-related information. Card payments are not offered.

How We Use Personal Information

We use personal information to:

respond to questions and prepare quotes;
process, customize, schedule, and fulfil orders;
coordinate payment, pickup, or delivery;
communicate about approvals, changes, availability, and order status;
provide customer service and resolve concerns;
maintain business, tax, and transaction records;
protect the website, prevent fraud, and improve our services;
use photographs of completed products for portfolio or promotional purposes after removing identifying details, or with permission when the image includes personal information; and
comply with legal and regulatory obligations.

Consent

We collect, use, and disclose personal information with your consent or as otherwise permitted by law. You may withdraw consent for optional uses at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions. Withdrawing consent may limit our ability to provide a quote, process an order, or complete a requested service.

When We Share Information

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share only the information reasonably required to operate our services. Recipients may include our hosting and website service providers, Google and email services, the financial institutions involved in an Interac e-Transfer, professional advisers, and a customer-arranged courier when delivery is requested. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect our rights, customers or business.

Our website is hosted on a Hostinger server located in Boston, United States. Other service providers, including email and backup providers, may also process or store personal information outside Quebec or Canada. Information processed there may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions. You may contact our Privacy Officer for information about these arrangements.

Payments

Payments are made by Interac e-Transfer through the financial institutions used by the customer and MDP. Their own privacy policies and security practices apply to the information they process. MDP retains the transaction references, amounts, payment status and other details needed to administer the order and meet record-keeping obligations. We do not request or store card numbers or online banking credentials.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

The website uses cookies and similar technologies needed for the shopping cart, checkout, language preferences, security and account sessions. Optional audience-measurement and marketing tracking are currently disabled. If we introduce non-essential tracking, we will provide information and obtain any required consent before activating it. You can control cookies through your browser settings, although disabling necessary cookies may affect how the website works.

Retention

We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including completing orders, providing customer service, maintaining accounting and tax records, resolving disputes, and meeting legal requirements. Information that is no longer required is securely deleted, destroyed, or anonymized where appropriate.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. No website, email, or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Your Privacy Rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccurate information, withdraw consent where applicable, or request deletion of information that is no longer required. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request, and some information may need to be retained for legal or business-record requirements.

Children’s Privacy

Our website and services are intended for adults arranging orders. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 14 without consent from a parent or guardian.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our practices, services, or legal obligations change. The current version and its updated date will be posted on this page.
